Great White Egrets

28 May

Paid my first visit to Castle Island this morning and it proved to be a worthwhile one as on arrival there was a gent stood on the banks watching not one but two great white egrets. They seemed quite at home wading around in the shallows with swifts, swallows and martins darting around them, only moving on when a mute swan seemed to take exception to being out-shone in the whiteness stakes and chased one of them upstream.
